Drying and styling without damage: the right daily habits
Share
We often think of shampoos and masks when it comes to hair care, but two too often overlooked steps play an equally important role: drying and styling. Yet these are high-risk moments for the hair fiber.
The classic bath towel, a false friend
Rubbing wet hair with a standard bath towel raises the cuticle scales and creates frizz, in addition to stretching a hair already weakened by water. A microfiber towel, like our Microfiber Turban Towel, absorbs excess water without rubbing and significantly reduces air-drying time.
Using heat properly, without overdoing it
Heat remains necessary for many routines, but it must be controlled: favor a moderate temperature, keep the device moving rather than fixing it on a strand, and use a cool air function at the end of drying to close the scales and seal in shine. A negative ion hair dryer, like ours, also helps neutralize static electricity and reduce exposure time to heat.
Detangle before styling, never after
Styling tangled hair puts stress on the fiber and promotes breakage. A pass with a wide-tooth comb before drying, then a suitable brush once the hair is dry, allows you to distribute the style without unnecessarily pulling on the roots.
Good habits in summary
- Wrap hair in a microfiber towel rather than rubbing.
- Let air dry as long as possible before using heat.
- Finish drying with cool air to seal the scales.
- Always detangle before styling, never after.
These are simple actions, but their cumulative effect over several months truly changes the appearance of the hair. Discover the Ambralya Turban Towel to get started.
