Hair loss: the role of scalp massage and stimulating oils
Share
Losing more hair than usual is often a cause for concern. Before panicking, it is useful to understand what is happening at the scalp level — and what simple actions can really help.
Why the scalp is the real priority
The hair follicle draws its resources from the blood vessels in the scalp. A tight, poorly irrigated scalp, or one clogged by styling product residue, nourishes the root less effectively, which can weaken the growth cycle. This is why hair care begins long before the lengths: at the root.
Massage, a simple but effective action
Massaging the scalp for a few minutes a day stimulates blood microcirculation and helps release accumulated tension, particularly that linked to stress — one of the frequent causes of reactive hair loss. Regular massage, by hand or with a suitable accessory like our Octopus Scalp Massager, also helps the treatments applied afterwards penetrate better.
Rosemary, an active ingredient studied for growth
Rosemary oil is receiving increasing interest in hair cosmetics for its stimulating properties on the scalp. Combined with coconut oil, known for its ability to penetrate the fiber and limit protein loss, it forms a complementary duo: we stimulate the root while nourishing the length. This is the combination used in our Rosemary & Coconut Hair Oil.
A simple ritual to adopt
- Apply a few drops of oil directly to the scalp, on dry hair.
- Massage in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Leave on for 30 minutes or overnight before shampooing, 1 to 2 times a week.
