Mist brush: what is it for and how to use it properly?
Share
You see it everywhere on TikTok: the mist brush, also known as a spray brush, releases a fine mist of water while you brush your hair. But what is it really used for, and who is it for?
How does a mist brush work?
It contains a small water tank. By pressing a button, a fine mist comes out from between the bristles while brushing. Your hair is slightly moistened as you detangle it: it glides better, breaks less, and is easier to manage.
Who is it for?
- Curly and coily hair: reactivate your curls in the morning without getting back in the shower.
- Dry or thick hair: detangling becomes less strenuous.
- Frizzy hair: a little moisture helps smooth it while brushing.
- On the go: cordless and compact, it replaces the spray bottle in your bag.
How to use it properly?
- Fill the tank with clean water (you can add a few drops of your usual hair care product).
- Turn on the mist and hold the bristle brush downwards.
- Brush section by section, from the ends to the roots.
- After use, empty the tank and store the brush dry: it is not designed to be rinsed under water.
Mist brush or spray bottle + brush?
The result is similar, but the mist brush is more convenient: one hand, a mist distributed exactly where you are brushing, and no excess water dripping. It is especially a time-saver in the morning.
